Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – Levi Cox Cooley has more than 1,000 yards rushing this season.

The Warriors showed just why they’ll be tough to stop in the North Coast Section playoffs with a dominating running game at Fortuna on Friday night.

A physical Del Norte team grounded out a well-deserved 20-7 win over the Huskies to secure at least a share of the conference championship, something they can clinch outright with a win against Eureka in Crescent City next weekend.

The Warriors feature a trio of dangerous ball carriers behind a big physical line, and when you add in a dominating and physical defense you have the recipe for success.

Levi Cox Cooley leads the Warriors with more than 1,000 yards rushing this season, including 102 of his team’s 243 rushing yards against the Huskies.

The 5-8, 170-pound junior also scored his team’s first TD on Friday.

Chase Blackburn added the second touchdown of the night on the opening play of the second quarter.

Kobe Mitchell didn’t find the end zone but had 76 yards rushing in the first half alone, as well as a nice gain on a short catch, which you can check out in our video highlights.

You can also watch Blackburn find the end zone from 20 yards out, breaking four tackles along the way.

OJ Calleja capped a big night for the visitors with a one-yard QB sneak to stretch the lead to 20 early in the fourth quarter.
