Your above-listed Outpost correspondent felt a bit like Pete Hogwallop today as he happened across a gaggle of old-timey musicians making a joyful noise in the dirt lot next to Madaket Plaza on the Eureka waterfront.
Turns out this group, a local string band called the Ukelalians, plays out and about twice a month, and they offer more than just music. Look behind the band in the video above and you’ll see a row of brown bags.
Deb Woods, the singer and guitarist on the far left, told us that these lunches are given away for free to hungry local homeless folks.
