Time to pull the rain boots out of the closet. Humboldt is forecast to see its first round of seasonal showers tonight.

Eureka’s National Weather Service office predicts that isolated showers will reach the North Coast around 2 p.m., with a majority of the rain falling overnight.

An additional storm is expected to bring more wet weather to Humboldt on Tuesday. The second wave of rain is expected to last through Wednesday night.

“This will be the first wetting rain of the season for much of Northwest California which means roads will be slick due to oil build up from cars over the summer,” the NWS stated on social media today. “We highly encourage motorists to slow down and take their time getting to their destinations if the roads are wet.”

Sunny skies are forecast for Thursday.
