Maxline (Max) Quint, died on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Humboldt County from complications of COPD.
Max was born in Missoula Montana to Max G. Quint and Ann J. Thompson who precede him in death.
Max served on the Arcata Fire department from 1987 to 2001 as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT. Max also served a short time on the Willow Creek fire department in the early ‘80s.
Max worked for 20 years as a truck driver for Dutra Trucking Co. of Arcata. Max was also a musician since his early teens in Redding. A self-taught guitar player and vocalist. Max had a band called Mad Max and Company, which played everywhere from weddings, family reunions and benefits for the physically challenged. Max also belonged to a band called The Music Express in the ‘70s.
Max is survived by his five children Kathleen Rodriquez, Kurt Quint, Clay Quint, Mike Smith and Niki Quint as well as seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Arcata Fire department in Max’s name. There will be a plaque on display at that department in remembrance of Max. There will be a private ceremony at a later date.
