From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On September 16th,
2019, at approximately 8:00 a.m., special agents with the Humboldt
County Drug Task Force (HCDTF), with the assistance of the Humboldt
County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at a residence
located in the 100 block of Empire Avenue, Redway. HCDTF received
numerous complaints of suspected drug trafficking at this location
and launched an investigation. Due to the proximity of a nearby
elementary school, HCDTF prioritized these complaints and took swift
action.
Upon
arrival, agents detained two occupants inside the residence. During
their search of the residence, agents located approximately ¾ of a
pound of methamphetamine and a small amount of suspected heroin.
Through their investigation, agents identified Inez
Cohen (age 58) as the main
suspect in narcotics distribution and placed her under arrest.
Cohen
was subsequently transported to the Humboldt County Correctional
Facility where she was booked for possession of controlled substances
for sales and operating / maintaining a residence for the purpose of
narcotics distribution.
