Press release from Humboldt Bay Fire:

On Friday, April 3 rd at 11:05 a.m. Humboldt Bay Fire crews responded to a call for an extrication at the corner of E St. and Henderson St. for a driver trapped in their vehicle after a traffic collision propelled the vehicle into the corner of a nearby building.

Engine 8113, Engine 8115, Battalion Chief 8102, and Community Risk Reduction Specialist 8108 responded to the scene where crews began patient assessment, care, and extrication.

Crews were able to safely extricate the patient who sustained minor injuries and release them to City Ambulance.

Thank you to Eureka Police Department, City Ambulance, and HBF Fire Support personnel for their assistance on scene.

Humboldt Bay Fire would like to remind the public that, even though there are currently less vehicles on the road, always drive defensively and scan ahead before crossing intersections.
