On February 7, 2020, the Joint Agency Fugitive Apprehension (JAFA) team conducted a warrant sweep operation in the Eel River Valley area. Members the Eureka Police Department, Fortuna Police Department, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, and the Rio Dell Police Department participated in the operation. The Humboldt County District Attorney’s Crime Analyst provided the team with reliable locations to check for the fugitives.

During this operation, four fugitives were located and arrested on the following charges:

  • Theodore Sierra (40): felony warrant for grand theft.
  • Mitchell Asbury (32): misdemeanor warrant for DUI.
  • Sandy Pace (26): felony warrant for domestic violence with corporal injury.
  • Robert Sauls (30): felony warrant for grand theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of driving on a suspended license, and probation violation.

The JAFA team will continue their efforts over the coming months and will cover much of the County in search of those with outstanding warrants. This is a great opportunity if you have outstanding warrants to turn yourself in to your local police department.
