Watch for hail on Highway 101 today.

Eureka’s National Weather Service office reports that hail showers are likely to occur in low-lying coastal areas of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.

“Small hail can quickly accumulate on the road, resulting in very slick conditions,” the NWS stated on social media. “If you find yourself driving on a hail covered road, remember to slow down by easing off the gas pedal. Do NOT slam on the brakes and try to avoid over-correcting as you could lose control of your vehicle.”
