Jose
lived to be 97 years old. He
passed away January 8th, 2020.
He became a citizen of the United States in 1961. He served and fought for his country in the Korean War.
He was a intelligent man and knew, in total, five languages: German, Japanese, English, Spanish and French.
He was a very positive, outgoing man who enjoyed time with family and card games with his grandchildren.
He opened and ran a family business in Eureka for 36 years – “Duran’s TV.”
He is survived by his children, Margarita and Arturo Duran; grandchildren Bill Wright, Angela Tapia and Sonja Duran; great-grandchildren Christian Jose Tapia, Dominic Wright and Destiny Wright; and great-daughter-in-law Lymari Wright.
He was a man of faith and knew the Lord well. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.
Special thanks to Hospice of Eureka for their awesome care, understanding and support. And thanks to Tammy for her help to him.
He carried on his sense of humor till the end. He was ready to go home and be with the Lord. He will be missed dearly.
2 Corinthians 5:8: We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Amen.
