Search of Eureka Probationer’s Apartment Nets Loads of Weed, Hidden Room Containing Meth and Hash Lab, Say Eureka Police

On February 3, 2020, at about 1:00 p.m., Detectives with the Eureka Police Department Problem Oriented
Policing Team (POP) conducted a probation search of Brent John Holdridge’s
apartment at the 600 block of 16 th Street. Holdridge (54 of Eureka)
is on Post Release
Community Supervision (PRCS) in Humboldt County for felon in possession of a
firearm and possession of heroin for sales. Holdridge’s probation
terms allowed for a search
of his person, place of residence and vehicles by law enforcement.

During the search of
his apartment, POP Detectives located 62 pounds of processed and unprocessed
marijuana. Detectives eventually located a hidden room behind a large
wall mounted mirror.
Inside the room, Detectives located approximately 14 ounces of methamphetamine and
marijuana processing equipment indicative that Cannabis Butane Honey Oil was being
manufactured in the room. It should be noted that Holdridge’s apartment is a
four-plex Victorian in which families with small children reside at.
Detectives
determined that Holdridge had a storage unit in Fortuna. A search
warrant was served at the
storage unit at about 5:30 pm. Inside the storage unit, Detectives located more
unprocessed marijuana and military style body armor. Due to
Holdridge’s prior felony
convictions he is not to possess body armor.
Holdridge was booked
into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession of methamphetamine for
sales, possessing more than the allowable quantity of marijuana, possession of
heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation,
felon in possession of body
armor, and manufacturing a controlled substance.
