The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday that an ambitious Humboldt teen has opened up his very own ice cream shop.

Sixteen-year-old Jonas Bramwell reportedly purchased the property at 606 Main Street in Ferndale, the former location of BeAnn’s Jams, and has transformed it into Cat Shack Ice Cream.

“Go support this young man,” the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce wrote on social media. “Go Jonas!”

Bramwell has slapped a fresh coat of paint on the building and added some new signage.

Cat Shack is now open for business and serving local ice cream from the Humboldt Creamery six days a week.
