Laurice Marie Martin was born October 1, 1939 in Eunice, Louisiana. She went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2019. She was 80 years old. She passed away with her family and close friends at her side.

Laurice was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker until her kids were all out of the home. Then she worked at a nursing home. She had only been working there for two years when she went to Angleton, Texas to help her nieces and nephews with their kids as they worked. Laurice lived in Texas for 15 years when she moved to Eureka to be near her daughter and her family.

Laurice is preceded in death by her father Dellastone Courville, mother Amelia Courville, baby brother Hubert Anthony, Norbert Courville, sister Clara Belle Ponthier, brothers Edwin, Hurst, Harris and Benjamin Courville, her three husbands, youngest daughter Debra Lynn Mason and granddaughter Brittany Marie Mason.

Laurice is survived by her sister Anna Lee Matt (Angleton, TX), daughter Ellie Payton (Eureka, CA), son Joseph Kerney Le Blue (Big Bend, LA), grandchildren Glenda Staley (Eureka, CA), Randa Mason (Westfield, IN), Michele Chinn (Eureka, CA), Jessica Mason (Westfield, IN), Steven Payton, Jr. (Oakdale, CA), great-grandchildren Melody Perez, Vanessa Gonzalez, Joshua, Emma, and Stevie Staley, all of Eureka, CA. And numerous nieces and nephews across the US.

A memorial service will be held January 25, 2020 at Sacred Heart in Eureka, CA at 10:30 a.m.
