The following letter was sent to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday by the North Coast Health Leadership Team, which consists of representatives from virtually every medical organization in the county, save tribal entities:
Dear Humboldt County Board of Supervisors:
On behalf of the North Coast Health Leadership Team, we would like to extend a special thank you and acknowledgement of the Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services and Humboldt County Emergency Preparedness & Response Team for their ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.
Specifically, we would like to give a big thank you to Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich; Deputy Health Officer, Dr. Josh Ennis; Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal; Michele Stephens, DHHS Public Health Director and all of the county employees who have been involved in COVID-19 response.
As healthcare leaders in this community, we would like to acknowledge their outstanding work during these unprecedented times. They have done an exceptional job at implementing new policies and infection prevention measures to help maintain the health and wellbeing of our community. Our county continues to have a low number of residents with COVID-19 and we have not had our healthcare system overwhelmed.
Through their ongoing dedication, commitment, and collaboration with healthcare agencies, we are confident that we as a county are better prepared to deal with whatever the future of COVID19 may bring.
As community and state businesses open up and begin the recovery process, we urge citizens to continue to heed the direction of the amazing team that has so capably guided us through this pandemic.
