The following message was posted to the Cafe Nooner Facebook page earlier today:

To all of our valued Old Town friends today we sadly announce that our Old Town Cafe Nooner (409 Opera Alley, Eureka) location is now permanently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are now consolidating all of our talent and efforts into our Cafe Nooner Henderson Center, Eureka location (2910 E Street - Grotto & E), which WILL REMAIN OPEN!!!

Rome was not built in a day and neither was the three thriving businesses we once had. Those took years to build to the level we enjoyed. Despite the federal disaster assistance loans we have received we simply cannot re-construct all three from what amounts to be a cold start status in a concurrent manner. It’s not a money issue, but rather there just aren’t enough of us who are experienced and able to re-start three stand alone businesses concurrently and meet our standards.

Our only option, therefore, is to consolidate and re-calibrate our main engine and that is Cafe Nooner in Henderson Center, Eureka. While this decision is not one we would have dreamed of making only a few months ago it is now how we are going to survive, thrive and move the Cafe Nooner brand forward into the future. With the awesome community support we have seen and the disaster loan funds helping us to survive while we recover, we are also very excited about an expansion opportunity we would not have otherwise pursued. This opportunity will expand the Cafe Nooner brand in an exciting way. We will announce exactly what the expansion is when we get closer to fruition likely in 2021.

We’d just like to thank all of our Old Town fans, our business neighbors, Eureka Main Street and the Eureka Chamber of Commerce for being a part of one wild ride for us over the years in Old Town, Eureka! We love you all and look forward to seeing everyone in friendly Henderson Center to get your Nooner fix!

Sincerely,
Lorrena and Joe Filgas
