From the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Over 1,200 local businesses have been certified for reopening by the Humboldt County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) since the Business Reopening process was launched just over three weeks ago.

In addition to retail stores and dine-in restaurants, the EOC is prioritizing review of hair salons and barber shops in anticipation of that sector opening later next week, assuming local COVID-19 conditions remain favorable.

More than 120 hair salons or barber shops have applied for reopening, and 100 have been approved. Certificates for the approved sites will be issued shortly before the sector is cleared to open.

Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal said, “Our EOC has been working hard to make this certification process as simple as possible. All of the information businesses need is right there in the application, and the Joint Information Center can provide one-on-one assistance to anyone with questions.”

Not all businesses are choosing to reopen at this timeCounty residents should contact businesses before visiting to find out about hours of operation and any changes to services, such as offering curbside pickup or delivery only.
