Gov. Gavin Newsom suggested that Californians take extensive, new precautions to avoid the spread of coronavirus while he spoke at a press conference today.

The Sacramento Bee reports that Newsom called for the isolation of California residents older than 65, and asked for the immediate closure of all businesses that strictly serve alcoholic drinks. Additionally, he asked that restaurants reduce their occupancies by half.

The governor also announced during the conference that the state is launching efforts to house homeless residents inside trailers and motels.
