Around 100 people gathered in front of the Humboldt County Courthouse Friday to demand that businesses deemed non-essential under government COVID-19 restrictions be allowed to “OPEN UP” again, even as the country continues to grapple with the deadly virus that, to date, has claimed over 65,000 lives in the U.S. Starting at 9 a.m. this morning and stretching well into the afternoon, the demonstration drew both honks of support and flipped birds of disapproval from passing motorists.
