Eureka Police Department press release:
On September 28, 2020, the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team (POP) along with City of Eureka’s Code Enforcement unit served a search warrant at a residence on the 200 block of Boyle Drive in Eureka. The California Department of Food and Agriculture was also on scene to assist. The warrant was obtained and served in response to ongoing complaints and concerns of an illicit marijuana operation taking place in a residential neighborhood.
During the execution of the search warrant, Detectives uncovered a large illegal cannabis processing and distribution operation. Detectives seized approximately 1,270 pounds of processed marijuana bud, approximately 35,000 pre-rolled marijuana joints and 1.4 pounds of concentrated cannabis. Additionally, detectives located numerous packages of heat-sealed marijuana ready to ship to numerous locations on the east coast.
No arrests were made in this investigation but the responsible parties have been identified, interviewed and the case will be sent to the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office for review as well as the City Attorney’s office for multiple city code violations.
