Humboldt County Drug Task Force press release:
On April 22nd, 2021 at approx. 5:00am agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1600 block of Railroad Dr. in Eureka. Agents had been investigating the driver, Levi Jones (29 years old from Eureka), for trafficking Fentanyl into Humboldt County from San Francisco. Agents had previously obtained a search warrant for Jones and his vehicle.
During the service of the search warrant agents located approx. 1.5 ounces of Fentanyl and a replica handgun in the vehicle. Jones was currently out of jail on bail for a previous arrest. Jones was arrested and booked at the Humboldt County Jail for the following charges:
- H&S 11352(a) Transportation of controlled substances for sale
- H&S 11352(b) Transportation of controlled substances across non-contiguous counties
- H&S 11351 Possession of controlled substance for sale
- PC 12022.1 Committing a felony while out on bail
