Colby Lee White
Feb. 11, 1997-Nov. 3, 2020
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Colby White. He was born on Feb. 11, 1997 and left us Nov. 2, 2020, at the age of 23.
Colby completed our family and was the last born of 4 to Suzie Webb and David White. Being the baby (until his younger cousins came) he was held, nurtured and played with by everyone including siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He always had a smile on his face, and a mischievous one at that! Colby always gave hugs to his loved ones and never missed a chance to say “I love you” to the many people he loved.
Colby attended Eureka City Schools growing up, where he was outgoing and made many lasting friendships. He was a great lover of the outdoors. Fishing was by far one of his favorite pastimes. He loved going to his grandparent’s cabin in Dinsmore where he would fish, hunt, ride quads and enjoy the countryside. This kid was a MASTER at catching grasshoppers, looking for feathers and could spot a deer before anyone else. He knew animals and their habitats very well. The highlight of cabin trips was building a fire with Grandpa Tom, and s’mores by the fire with his grandparents, sister, brothers, and cousins. He was always happy to watch for shooting stars, airplanes and satellites. Colby was never ready to call it a night, and was faithfully the last to fall asleep. In later years Colby and his brothers loved going to hunting camp with his dad and long-time family friend Parry Dyer.
Colby is preceded in death by his father David White, grandfather Tom Webb, grandmother Lynn White, aunt Phyllis Webb; Uncles Jeff, Andy and Rod White.
He is survived by his mother Suzie Webb, sister Kristen Webb, brother David White (Kayla) and niece Lucy, brother Justin White; Grandparents Rosie Webb and Nolan White; Uncle and aunt Mike and Connie Webb and their children Hannah and Jack; Uncles James and Ken White; Uncles and aunts Bob and Judy Webb and Ellen and Berry Buzzard; Cousins Jerrod White, Melissa Andrew, and Devin Dittmar; as well as many friends, out-of-town cousins, and other family.
Our family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Sugiura and Calvin Towns of St. Joseph Hospital, who befriended Colby and touched his life in the last years of his illness, and the IDA Emmerson Hospice House for the amazing and compassionate care given to Colby in the final days of his life. We would also like to thank the rest of his care staff at St. Joe’s who always took excellent care of him. Also Troy Gallaway, Brenda Phillips, Brandon Hoyt, Colby’s many friends, and the many staff members at Eureka High for their amazing support of our family during this time.
I miss you brother, not a day goes by when I don’t think about you. How lucky are we that we got to love and be loved by you while you were here with us.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
