From the Eureka Police Department:

On February 17, 2021, at about 12:04 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to W Hawthorne and Albee Streets for the report of an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles and a residence.

The at fault driver was identified as 30-year-old Lance Adams of Eureka and was found to be driving a stolen vehicle. Adams attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly taken into custody by officers. Based on the investigation, it appears Adams was driving the stolen vehicle and collided with the victim’s vehicle in the intersection. The impact caused the stolen vehicle to strike a nearby residence.

Humboldt Bay Fire and City Ambulance responded and provided emergency medical care and transport to both Adams and the victim. Both drivers suffered moderate, non- life-threatening injuries. A dog was inside the victim vehicle and appeared uninjured.

Adams was placed under arrest for hit and run causing injury, DUI, possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting arrest. Once medically cleared he is expected to be booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
