Stormy winter weather is forecast to hit the North Coast tomorrow.

Eureka’s National Weather Service office reports that heavy rain, 25 to 45-mph southerly winds and 22 to 25-foot waves will impact coastal areas tomorrow. Gusts of 40 to 60 mph will be possible along ridgetops and mountain passes.

“Active weather is expected for first week of the new year as a series of systems move across the area,” the NWS stated on social media. “The worst weather is expected to occur on Monday and Wednesday, when widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected.”

Heavy snow is also forecast to fall in high-elevation areas of northern Trinity County tomorrow.

The stormy weather is expected to taper on Tuesday before returning on Wednesday with more heavy coastal rains and mountain snow.
