Paul Gilbert Fontaine, 65, of Rio Dell, passed away on May 19, 2021 in Montague, California.

Paul Fontaine was born in Klamath Falls to Alfred Fontaine and Mary Lou Fontaine on September 14, 1955. He went to school at Eureka High School. He married Debbie Fontaine on April 30, 1976 in Las Vegas. He worked his way up to shift engineer for Palco for many years. He was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the Army. He was an active member of A.A. for 36 years.

Paul loved fishing and hunting. He loved living in Humboldt County. He loved the redwoods, ocean and the rivers. He loved jeep rides with the top off. He loved camping and swimming. He loved his family and especially the Grands. He loved hiking in the Alps. He loved watching his kids play sports. He was always trying to feed people. He believed life should be lived in the Vortex and encouraged others to always find something to be grateful for.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brother George.

Paul is survived by his wife Debbie Fontaine, his children: Evan Fontaine and Briar Parkinson, his extra children: Cassie Holmgren and Heather Watkins, his siblings: Wendell Fontaine, Warren Fontaine, Jeannine Savage, Mike Fontaine, Leah Sa, Danny Fontaine, the JOY of his life, the grandchildren: Kaleya Parkinson, Ryder Cree, Lania Fontaine, Tayla Fontaine, Kasyn Parkinson, Rykin Fontaine, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family celebration of life to follow.
