On Nov. 9, 2021, at about 11:28 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the Redway area conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on the 50 block of Briceland Road.

During the traffic stop, deputies learned that the driver of the vehicle, 47-year-old Robert James Anderson, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Additionally, deputies observed a large bag of cannabis inside the vehicle in plain view. Deputies initiated a search of the vehicle, locating a loaded firearm and approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine.

Anderson was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of convicted felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800(A)), person prohibited in possession of ammunition (PC 30305(A)), possession of a controlled substance while armed (HS 11370.1(a)), carrying a loaded firearm in a public place (PC 25850(a)) and possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(A)), in addition to warrant charges of possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(A)) and possession of Nitrous Oxide (PC 381B).
