As documented in the above video, the bomb squad has fired a shell at the suspicious device. Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Samatha Karges, at the scene, tells the Outpost that it has been determined that the object was not, in fact, explosive.

Law enforcement has massed around K Street between Third and Fourth in downtown Eureka this morning, after the discovery of a “suspicious device.” The Sheriff’s Office’s Explosive Ordinance Team is out with all of its gear, and K Street is closed near the site.
