From the Humboldt County Prescribed Burn Association:

“The Humboldt County Prescribed Burn Association plans to burn on Upper Bear River Ridge for three consecutive days beginning Tuesday, August 25th and ending on Thursday, August 27th. These prescribed fires aim to restore coastal prairie and rangelands by targeting encroaching woody shrubs. Smoke may be visible from HWY 101, Ferndale, Rio Dell, Scotia and ridgelines across the area.”
