More Ways to Participate

Community members can also participate online by visiting the City’s Housing Element engagement page at this link. The site includes project information, a community survey, quick poll, idea board, and interactive map where residents can share feedback and ideas. The survey is available now and takes about 5–10 minutes to complete.

What is the Housing Element?

The Housing Element is a state-required plan for addressing the City’s housing needs through 2035. It addresses housing affordability, homelessness, fair housing, preservation of existing homes, and housing opportunities for current and future residents of all income levels. It also identifies where Eureka can accommodate 1,740 new homes by 2035 to meet regional housing needs.

Why engage now?

Community input received now will help shape the policies, programs, and actions that will be included in the final plan. While this stage of the process can feel more abstract than a specific development proposal, it is when the community has the greatest opportunity to influence future housing decisions.
