The District will hold scoping meetings to allow the public to submit comments on the scope of the environmental issues to be addressed in the DEIR. The meetings will be held as follows:
Eureka Veterans Memorial Hall located at 1018 H Street, Eureka, CA 95501 on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Meeting time: Public Meeting - 5:30 PM
Samoa Cookhouse located at 908 Vance Avenue, Samoa, CA 95564
on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Meeting time: Public Meeting - 5:30 PM
- Sign-up for public comments will start 15 minutes prior to the meeting
- There will be a short presentation about the CEQA process and the proposed project before comments will begin
- Public comments will be heard in sign-up order, as time allows, until 7:30 PM
- Each speaker will be offered 90 seconds to speak
- Comment cards will be available at the meeting to submit written comments
- No comments will be taken over Zoom
- A “Kids Korner” is available starting at 5:30 PM
- All written comments are due December 7, 2026 and may also be submitted via email to projectcomments@humboldtbay.
