SECOND UPDATE, 3:47 p.m.:

As noted in our first update below, Casey Dresser insists that he is not responsible for the X account we initially reported on, an account that was set up at least six months ago using a photo of Dresser and a username that includes his first and last name along with his year of birth.

That username, @CaseyDresser78, also happens to closely match the email address Dresser provided to the City of Eureka in July while qualifying to run for mayor: Caseydresser78@gmail.com.

If Dresser has indeed been framed, with his heretofore little-known name used as a sock puppet for spreading racism online, it would appear that the culprit has been playing a long game, setting up fake X/Twitter accounts under the name “Casey Dresser” for at least a decade while following and responding to many of the same right wing personalities.

Consider this account:

It was established in May 2016, and it lists Dresser’s location as “Over there.” The profile image is a cute orange cat, and the account user appears to have posted only twice, both times trying to alert Joe Rogan about the dangers of kratom:

But just last year, on Sept. 11, 2025, @casey_dresser responded to a post about the killing of a Pakistani-American pediatrician with the observation that, “white people are sick and tired of being killed by black people.”

And then there’s this account:

Same cute cat profile pic, and if the culprit is the same Casey Dresser impersonator responsible for the other accounts then they did their homework, listing his location as Oakland, where the real Dresser lived for about a decade, as he noted in his interview with the Outpost. 

Like the @CaseyDresser78 profile we wrote about earlier today, this one follows shock jock and convicted woman beater Anthony Cumia, and in 2024 he wrote that Black people who complain about America should “get the fuck out.”

That same month, @CaseyDresser called for the creation of Orania, an uncommon reference to the white separatist town in South Africa, here in the U.S. The @CaseyDresser78 profile also suggested creating Oranias in America.

And then there’s the X account with the username @dumdumboy78, established in 2013, which lists the name as “Casey dresser” and features a profile image that appears to be Dresser holding a baby. 

In a statement provided to Kym Kemp, Dresser said not only that he does not use X but that he never has.

The Outpost emailed Dresser again this afternoon to ask whether he has any theories about why someone would set up all of these accounts pretending to be a very racist version of him. His response appeared to reference only one of the three other “Casey Dresser” profiles. He wrote:

Nice try. 

Never seen it. 

That is not my X account. 

I don’t use X.

And he again threatened to sue the Outpost, writing, “Your fabricated article has put me and my family in danger and for that, you will pay.”

UPDATE, 1:36 p.m.:

Dresser had emailed me shortly before this post was published, but I didn’t receive it until shortly afterward. In his message, he unequivocally denies that this is him:

I have attempted to reach you via messenger, but FB will not allow my messages to send. 

Here is what I have to say to you:

This is not my page.

I do not use X.

You are aware that any person can set up a page on X and give it any name they want, and say anything they want, right?

And you plan to publish an article based on an anonymous Reddit thread?

That is a very flimsy attempt at defamation. 

I have already spoken with an attorney and am connecting with another attorney who specializes in defamation and libel.

I hope you are not busy for a while and like sitting in court.

If you choose to publish an article attempting to defame me as a racist, based on a Reddit thread, and tie me to a page that I have nothing to do with, there is plenty of precedent for a lengthy and very expensive lawsuit right there.

By publishing an article like this, you will be knowingly putting my life and my families lives in danger, and that is not something I take lightly.

Casey Dresser, candidate for Eureka mayor, published a series of overtly racist posts to X/Twitter over the past six months — referring to Black people as apes, baboons and worthless animals; advocating racial segregation; condoning race-based violence; etc. — before deleting his account.

Thankfully for voters, the posts have been preserved by the Internet Archive’s “Wayback Machine,” and last night on the Humboldt subreddit, user @Purple_Assignment805 took a deep dive into Dresser’s feed.

Before taking a closer look at that content ourselves, let this serve as the sternest of trigger warnings: While the Outpost has chosen not to reproduce the most vile and incendiary posts directly, we’ve linked to some of the screenshots. Don’t click on any of the hyperlinks (indicated by teal-colored text) unless you’re prepared.

The X posts preserved by the Internet Archive were all published over the past six months. The username was @CaseyDresser78, and the profile picture shows Dresser aiming a handgun directly at the camera. (Since his X account was deleted, the profile image no longer appears on posts preserved by the Internet Archive, though screenshots were posted on Reddit.)

In this screenshot, Dresser appears to be calling for the systemic lynching of Muslims.

Dresser’s posts are almost entirely focused on white grievance, with many referring to Black people as animals. (See here, here and here, for just a few examples.)

Dresser repeatedly calls for race-based segregation. On April 24, for example, he suggested creating “Thousands of small Oranias” — referring to the white separatist town in South Africa — with “Violent repercussions for trespassers.”

In a May 28 post, Dresser said he’d prefer Nazi Germany to California under Governor Gavin Newsom and New York City under Mayor Zohran Mamdani:

He made several other calls on X for racial violence. On March 11, for example, in another post calling a group of Black people “monkeys,” Dresser wrote, “Why are they breathing? What the fuck are we doing? … It’s way past time to take action.” (Other examples, should you require them, can be found here, here and here.)

The most recent post, published just a week ago, is a reply to a post from white supremacist Jared Taylor in which he refers to Black people as “violent low IQ animals” who have taken over U.S. cities.

This morning, we reached out to Dresser via his campaign’s Facebook page, asking if he would address the posts. After a while, his profile icon appeared under the message we’d sent, showing that he had received it. For a few minutes, we could see the animated three-dots icon that indicates a person is typing.

More that an hour later, he has not replied. If he does, we’ll update this post.
