LoCO‘s CHP Watch indicates that a two-vehicle accident just occurred on Highway 299 near its intersection with Highway 101 in Arcata. Both westbound lanes are currently blocked. Dispatchers note that a woman in a dark green Volkswagon appears to be bleeding and that there are children in the vehicle.
Scanner traffic suggests the accident may have been a head-on collision. One person is trapped in their vehicle. Another is unconscious. More updates below. —AG
