Bad Crash on Highway 101 at the Sunset Offramp; Three People Suffer Minor Injuries

UPDATE, 11:10 a.m.: Scanner traffic indicates that one person was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Arcata Fire has left the scene. Southbound traffic is currently very slow near the scene, reports the Outpost’s Andrew Goff.

UPDATE, 11:05 a.m.: Both vehicles are on their wheels, CHP dispatch reports. It’s not clear whether the initial report of the car overturning was in error, or whether the vehicle had since been righted.

Arcata Fire and ambulance services are responding to a bad crash near the Sunset offramp in Arcata.
According to CHP dispatch traffic, below, two vehicles were involved in the collision — a white truck and a red car, the latter of which had overturned.
Three people have suffered minor injuries in the crash, rescue personnel tell dispatchers. Additional resources are being sent to set up traffic control.

E8215 is at scene reporting two vehicles off the roadway. All occupants appear out of the vehicle.
