Head-On Collision North of Arcata; Southbound Lanes Backed Up Near Giuntoli
UPDATE: 9:22 a.m.: KHUM’s Bayley Brown reached a CHP spokesperson, who told her that one lane of southbound 101 will be closed for about half an hour longer. Also, the spokesperson said that it turned out that only one vehicle was involved — a Honda Fit that went head-on into the center divider.
Traffic is currently slow, but moving.

There was a head-on collision on Highway 101 near the Giuntoli Lane exit a few moments ago. Many rescue agencies are en route, a lane is closed and traffic is backing up.
