###

A major landslide has closed Route 1 west of Leggett for an unknown amount of time, as Caltrans crews work to clear the pile of mud and rock from the roadway.
Caltrans reports on its Facebook page that the slide occurred yesterday evening, and that there is no estimated time as to when the road will be reopened.
“The slide appears to have pushed the concrete k-rail over the edge of the road,” the Caltrans Facebook post reads. “Tomorrow our staff may be able to get a better idea about when the road may reopen to traffic.”
According to the California Highway Patrol incident report, the road is expected to be closed for days, possibly weeks.
We will update when we know more.
