Slide Closes Highway 96 Between Orleans and Somes Bar
An active slide has shut down Highway 96 between Orleans and Somes Bar near the Humboldt-Siskiyou border.
The California Highway Patrol reported at 12:51 a.m. that the slide had completely closed the road.
Excluding large trucks, drivers can use Ishi-Pishi Road as a detour around the slide.
There is no estimated time for when the highway will be reopened.
