(UPDATE) Myrtle Avenue Closed at Three Corners After Big Rig Plows Into Power Pole

UPDATE, 5:50 p.m.: All the occupants of vehicles that were tangled up by the downed power line are out of their vehicles, according to scanner traffic. PG&E is on scene. Myrtle Avenue is completely closed between Eureka and Three Corners. Seek other routes.

Power lines fell down across a CHP patrol vehicle on Myrtle Ave. this afternoon, after a big rig smashed into a pole. Myrtle Avenue is closed for the time being, as PG&E and emergency service agencies plan a rescue.
