Power Lines Down on Highway 101 South of Fortuna
Caltrans and PG&E are responding to a report of downed power lines on Highway 101 near Chapman’s Gem and Mineral Store just north of Rio Dell.
CHP Watch indicates that there was a minor two-car traffic collision at the location but it’s unclear if the collision caused the lines to fall or if it was due to the lines already being down. Both vehicles have left the scene.
Crews at the scene note that the downed lines are affecting traffic in both northbound and southbound lanes but not that the are not live. Updates below.
