Vegetation Fire on Highway 299 After Vehicle Careens Down Embankment

LoCO‘s CHP Watch notes a wreck that occurred on Highway 299 a few miles west of Weaverville at Oregon Summit in which a vehicle is reported to have rolled down a cliff. The vehicle is estimated to be 300 feet down  the embankment, far enough down that it can’t be seen from the road.

A half-acre vegetation fire is spreading near the crash site, according to scanner traffic heard by the Trinity Journal.
