Overturned Cement Truck Halts Traffic on Highway 96

Caltrans spokesperson Myles Cochrane says that all lanes of the highway have been reopened.

A cement truck overturned on Highway 96 today at approximately 7:24 a.m., blocking northbound traffic north of Hoopa.
Caltrans spokesperson Myles Cochrane told the Outpost that both directions of traffic are currently closed while workers attempt to upright the truck.
“Motorists should anticipate waiting a bit,” Cochrane said.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident report, the driver was able to exit the overturned vehicle and was reportedly standing on the side of the highway after the crash.
CHP spokesperson Paul Craft told the Outpost that he plans to release more information on the incident later today.
