Snow Flurries in Del Norte Make Traveling 199 a Bit Dicey at the Moment

Big snow day in the Del Norte interior! You’re going to maybe want to avoid traveling up 199 at the moment. Chain controls are in effect for commercial vehicles, though not, at the time of this writing, for passenger cars. As you can see from the CHP dispatch logs below, plows are having a hard time clearing the new snowfall.

Elsewhere on the CHP log, we see that the road appears to be fully closed east of Gasquet, at least temporarily, as some vehicles, including at least one semi truck, are blocking the roadway. Follow that incident for more updates.
