HUMBOLDT AND DEL NORTE COUNTIES CENTRAL LABOR COUNCIL, AFL-CIO, ENDORSES KIMBERLEY WHITE FOR ARCATA CITY COUNCIL REELECTION

ARCATA, CA — The Humboldt and Del Norte Counties Central Labor Council has endorsed Kimberley White for reelection to the Arcata City Council, recognizing her commitment to organized labor, workers’ rights, economic justice, and ensuring that working families have a strong voice in local government.

For White, the endorsement is deeply personal. Her father was a member of Retail Clerks 1364, now part of UFCW, and she grew up understanding the importance of union membership and the labor movement.

“I am deeply honored to have the endorsement of the Humboldt and Del Norte Counties Central Labor Council,” said White. “I learned from an early age that when people stand together, they have a stronger voice and a greater ability to create fairness, dignity, and opportunity. That history is personal to me, and this endorsement means a great deal.”

White has made advocating for labor, working families, and underserved communities a central part of her work on the Arcata City Council. She believes local government has an important role to play in creating good jobs, supporting a strong local economy, and ensuring that workers and their families can afford to live and thrive in the communities where they work.

“I’m proud to stand with organized labor and with the labor movement,” White said. “The fight for fairness, dignity, and economic opportunity is a fight we all share. I will continue to listen, show up, and work for policies that strengthen our community and make sure every resident has a voice.”

The Central Labor Council has also invited White to speak at its annual Labor Day Picnic on Monday, September 7, at Sequoia Park in Eureka. White will speak at approximately 1:00 PM.

White has previously received the endorsement of the Humboldt Progressive Democrats. She is running for one of two open seats on the Arcata City Council.

Her campaign slogan is A Better, Stronger Arcata.
