Grass fire reported off Giuntoli Lane, behind the Town and Country mobile home park. Witnesses say the fire is roughly the size of a building. Calfire is responding, for some reason.

Establishing “Lentell Incident Command” at the site of the horse in the hole. All units summoned to the scene have been committed to an extended time-out. They’re hunkering down to rescue this horse.

“We do have a confirmed horse trapped in a hole,” reports Humbold Bay Fire command unit 8100 on the scene on Lentell Road. Squad 8174 has been summoned in for backup.

CHP units in area Hwys 101/200, unable to locate a swordsman, clear and canceling HCSO. there had been one call only.

Also, a horse is stuck in a hole near the intersection of Mitchell and Lentell roads east of Eureka.

Traffic is at a standstill on Highway 255, presumably north of the bridge. The CHP is asking the Eureka Police Department for help locating the four people who were spotted walking from the scene.

The CHP incident at 4:07, below, is a two-car collision on the Samoa Bridge. One lane of the bridge is blocked by a disabled vehicle. Four people associated with one of the involved cars — a van — were seen walking on the bridge toward Eureka. Humboldt Bay Fire and the CHP are all en route.
