Eureka Structure Fire: 2500 block of Hubbard for a report of heavy smoke in a residence with one patient with possible smoke inhalation; Humboldt Bay Fire Engine 8115 is on scene of a two story apartment complex with light smoke from the second floor. 8115 is passing command, setting up for fire attack and requesting next in unit lay in a supply line. 8115 has assisted the patient down the stairs and is setting up for entry. 8114 is on scene laying in, passing command and assisting 8115. Battalion 8102 is on scene assuming “Hubbard IC”. City Ambulance is also responding code 3

Fortuna Accidental Gunshot: In the area of Mountain View Road for a self-inflicted, accidental gunshot wound to the leg from a 9 mm. Fortuna PD, HCSO, fire and medical are responding (This will likely mark the ninth accidental gunshot injury in Humboldt County this year)

Mckinleyville Structure Fire: Arcata Fire is at scene in the 100 block of Timmons Ln cross of Essex for a report of fire spreading to a home from a wood stove. Chief 8202 was “Timmons IC”. Fire is reported to be controlled. HCSO is now receiving reports of an individual making threats from the scene. Medical is being dispatched to stand by. Chief 8202 has transferred command of the structure fire to to Chief 8700. An engine on scene is reporting that a male was seen walking down Timmons and gesturing to his waistband like he had a weapon. 8202 is requesting the ambulance stage far from the scene. HCSO is responding code 3

N43U (referred to by the callsign “Intel 24”), a fixed wing aircraft funded through the Cal OES FIRIS program and administered by Orange County Fire Authority, is currently flying a pattern over Humboldt County at 9,000’ after flying up from Chino this morning. The aircraft is most often used for infrared mapping of wildfires but is regularly called upon to survey and provide mapping after other natural disasters.
