TODAY IN LoCO: Remember the Suddenlink Slasher? He, she or they was/were the renegade criminal(s) who seemed to nurse a beef against the telecommunications industry — or perhaps against one particular cable Internet provider — to such an insane extent that cables were sliced and diced in the dead of night all over the county.

The Slasher’s reign of terror had pretty much come to a close by Sept. 16, 2014 — exactly eight years ago today — but this is the day that former California Governor Jerry Brown signed former state Senator Wes Chesbro’s anti-Slasher legislation, and it so today is the day it became the law of the land.

And it worked!
