The situation at Fortuna High School seems to have settled somewhat. The school is now informing parents to come pick up their kids.

From FUHS:

We are preparing to release students. Once your students building is cleared by law enforcement they will be released to go. Parents can come pick students on 12th but please remain in your cars. Busses will also be dropping students off on the regular route.

Fortuna police are still at Fortuna High School, clearing it building by building, as per scanner traffic. They just got done with the auto shop and are moving on to other classrooms.

North Coast News is providing live video from Fortuna High School, which has been on lockdown for a little more than an hour now.

Going Down @ 12:38 p.m.

Fortuna High is currently on lockdown after someone sent a message saying they were going to “light up the school” at 12:10 p.m.

Students are being evacuated and police are currently inspecting the contents of their backpacks, according to scanner traffic.
