CHP has the suspect is in custody on 101 near Sixth Ave in the Westhaven area. HCSO units are clearing

The vehicle is reported to be driving on the rims with only one good tire. CHP is still leading. HCSO is trailing and Arcata PD is positioning to assist. The vehicle has stopped on southbound Highway 101 just south of Sixth

HCSO deputies are reporting “good spikes” just north of Trinidad. Vehicle is continuing southbound speeds of 70 MPH, occasionally crossing into the opposing lanes. Now taking the Trinidad exit. HCSO deputies are with the pursuit now

Vehicle Pursuit: Highway 101 southbound north of Freshwater. CHP (possibly with Yurok Tribal Police) is in pursuit of a stolen vehicle that may be associated with an individual who is considered “armed and dangerous”. The pursuit began in Del Norte County. There is also a tree reportedly blocking the roadway in the northbound lanes of 101 in the Freshwater area and two responding Humboldt CHP units struck the tree and their vehicles are disabled but they are “code 4”. HCSO has units positioned to assist but are not involved at this time
