Ed Jones, Blue Lake Fire battalion chief, tells the Outpost’s Ryan Burns that the cause of the fire is still unknown. They still aren’t sure where in the house the fire started.

“It was blazing hot when we got here,” he said.

Jones said that there was a great deal of ammunition in the house, as the homeowner is a target shooter. The evacuation order was prompted, in part, by the fact that fire personnel were aware that “there may be flying objects.”

One dog died in the fire. Another was saved.

The Outpost’s Ryan Burns, at the scene, tells us that a big chunk of Blue Lake Boulevard is still closed — from Greenwood on, he says.
