Eureka/Cutten Shooting Update/Clarification: The incident began as an alleged home invasion in the area of Walnut and Fern. The individual who fled to W and Glatt Street was reportedly shot in the chest by an occupant of the home while committing the alleged break-in. Additional evidence has been located by EPD and HCSO between the original scene on Walnut and the scene where the wounded individual was located at W and Glatt. No suspects are outstanding, however continue to avoid the area.

Eureka/Cutten Shooting Update: The individual with the gunshot wound is being transported to the hospital code 3 with a perforating gunshot wound to the right chest. Law enforcement is riding on the ambulance. The circumstances of the shooting are not immediately clear and the individual who fled may actually be the one with the gunshot wound.

Eureka/Cutten Shooting Update: One firearm has been located and secured but there may be an additional weapon. EPD and HCSO have detained an individual at W and Glatt Street near the Zoo. The detained individual is on CDC Parole for aggravated assault. This is consistent with more recent reports that state the suspect actually fled the scene northbound towards the Zoo. Fire and Medical are on scene.

Eureka/Cutten Gunshot Victim: Walnut Drive between Redwood and Fern for a report of a victim who was shot in the chest by an unknown suspect. The suspect reportedly fled the area southbound towards Fern. The weapon was described as a “Glock 23”. Law enforcement is responding code 3 and fire and medical are staging.
