The assault reportedly occurred under the pedestrian bridge at 17th and G St. APD is requesting HSUPD assist with closing the area off to traffic. The victim was transported to Mad River Hospital with CPR in progress

Arcata Assault(delayed entry): APD responded to 17th and G St around 5:13 for an elderly male assault victim. APD arrived at scene and reported CPR in progress. Arcata Fire Engine 8217 arrived and requested a second engine respond code 3 to assist. The patient is currently being transported to the hospital code 3 with firefighters assisting. APD has a perimeter established
