LoCO’s daily Instagram battle ran from March 2015 to June 2016. Instagram no longer serves the photos, so what’s left is who posted, when, the votes and the captions.

1:43 a.m.: So, this local artist came into my work and he had one of his paintings with him. It was absolutely beautiful! I told him how beautiful it was, and the next thing you know, he pulls out a pile of prints. He took photos of his artwork and had prints made. He told me to go ahead and take one. Sure enough, I saw a painting of mushrooms. I gasped! I told him about my fascination of fungi, and he told me to keep the print. He said this painting was actually painted on a slab of #douglasfir. In the original photo, the fungi is blue. I made it black and white though, because I can 😁👌 anyway, this totally made my day. I couldn't be more stoked✌💕🍄 Thee artist's name is #JeffStanley If you are interested in this man's work, you can contact him at paintingsbyjeffstanley@hotmail.com #fungifreaks #art #natureseekers #humboldt #humboldtcounty #arcata #arcataca
