Adulting 101: Housing Heartache

If you’ve looked for rental housing, you may have had a few challenges, from finding a place that’s affordable, to dealing with property managers, to getting your deposit when you leave. Maybe you’re wondering what you have to do to buy your own place and get out of the rent-race. Join Charlie Heinberg and James Schaeffer, local actors and comedians with a little experience as adults and several years of financial literacy training, as they attempt to teach you everything you need to know to be a successful adult. Well, maybe not everything. Adulting 101 is a class about what YOU wish you knew as you’re becoming more independent. They won’t teach you how to fold a fitted sheet, but they can give you some tips to better understand what it means when you’re buying car insurance, or how to protect your rights when you rent an apartment, or how to simply live on the amount of money you make. Each class will start with a tool box of topics, and the participants will determine the direction the instruction takes. When you leave, you’ll have a basic understanding of each topic and two or three life hacks that will make you more effective in each area.
